(She/her)
I am originally from Estonia, a small Northern European country known for its innovation and rich history. Its capital, Tallinn, is home to a beautiful medieval Old Town, and Estonia is also one of the most digitally advanced societies in the world, where many everyday services—such as taxes, healthcare, and even voting—can be done entirely online. Growing up there shaped my appreciation for adaptability and meaningful communication.
Today, I feel grateful to call Canada home, and I truly value the warmth and kindness I have experienced here.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and am currently completing supervised hours toward registration as a Registered Clinical Councellor in BC. After moving to Canada, I spent several years working with youth on the autism spectrum. This experience has been deeply meaningful and has strengthened my ability to approach each person with patience, understanding, and respect for their unique way of experiencing the world.
As a therapist, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard. I approach my work with empathy, curiosity, and compassion, and I am passionate about supporting people as they navigate challenges, build self-awareness, and move toward meaningful change in their lives.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy cooking and baking, spending time with friends, and exploring nature through walks and hikes. I also love quiet moments curled up on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea.

I have been working in the counselling field for more than 25 years supporting people with a person centered and trauma informed and strengths based approach. Most of my experience is working in a rural health care setting as a clinician and leader and I have also worked for Indigenous and Not for Profit organizations. My focus in counselling is to support you to reach your goals in a way that works for you.
I’ve learned that healing often happens in phases and that if a person is curious about working with a counsellor, its likely time to move into that next phase. I also believe that everything is connected, and I appreciate the complex relationships between thoughts, feelings, behaviours, interpersonal relationships, family and social structures and the environment.
I draw from many counselling modalities to tailor the right approach to each person. These include CBT, Mindfulness, Person Centered, Humanistic, Solution focused, and Response Based approaches.
One of the critical ingredients in your success in counselling is finding a counsellor who is a good fit for you so take your time to find someone that you match with.

Hello, I’m Patricia Mirth (she/her). I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor, meditation teacher, poet, and workshop facilitator. As a Filipina immigrant and settler, I bring a multicultural and anti-oppressive lens to my work – meaning I centre the ways culture, lived experience, and identity shape our unique stories of strength and struggle. I truly believe treatment is a collaborative partnership between counsellor and client. Together, we will design an effective plan that recognizes your personal strengths, challenges, and goals. I use warmth, humour, and authenticity in my approach to make each client feel comfortable and to build a strong, positive therapeutic connection.
I am especially passionate about supporting clients living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs), chronic pain, or those navigating life after a traumatic brain injury. I also enjoy working with clients to strengthen self-esteem and challenge negative self-talk that may be getting in the way of living life to the fullest.
For younger clients, I incorporate creative approaches-such as games and movement-based activities- to foster engagement and connection. I’ve received training in Expressive Play Therapy and use these methods to help children feel safe, seen, and involved in the counselling process.
Having lived and worked in diverse communities across Canada and internationally, I have developed a deep respect for culturally sensitive and unbiased mental health care. I aim to provide counselling that honours each client’s perspective on healing and recognizes all the elements that intersect to make each of us our own unique person.
While I primarily base my approach on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, a wide variety of treatment methods and interventions may be used depending on your needs, personality, and preferences.
Areas of Focus:

I am a counselling student at Island Clinical Counselling working with youth (11+), adults, parents, couples, and families. My approach is warm, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and focused on helping clients understand their emotional patterns and behaviours while developing practical tools for meaningful change.
I also specialize in digital wellness, including video gaming disorder (VGD), problematic smartphone use (PSU), and social media overuse. Digital habits often start as ways to manage stress or emotional pain but can easily become their own challenge through reinforced reward cycles, avoidance, and identity-based rewards. My work helps clients understand both the underlying needs as well as the behavioural habits and biopsychosocial drives that keep them feeling stuck.
Technology-related addictions often reveal deeper concerns such as anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, identity challenges, or neurodiversity. When issues fall outside my scope—such as body dysmorphic disorder, eating disorders, or concerns requiring medical, psychiatric, physiotherapy, or occupational therapy involvement—I collaborate with and refer to appropriate specialists while continuing to support the client’s emotional wellbeing. Below are the areas I work with directly.
