Hi, I’m Wendee.
I have often been told that I bring a warm, authentic, and personable style to my work, and creating a space where people feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely supported is very important to me.
I draw on more than 25 years of experience as an educator working with children, youth, and adults, along with 12 years of clinical counselling experience, which allows me to offer both a broad perspective and practical, real-life tools to help people move toward their counselling goals.
I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Counselling Psychology, and I am both a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).
I work with children, youth, adults, couples, and families facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, parenting stress, behavioural concerns, and life transitions.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)/DBT, EMDR, mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed practice, and practical skill-building strategies that clients can use in everyday life.
When working with children and youth, I often incorporate art, play, and creative interventions to support emotional regulation, confidence, and communication. With parents and families, I provide practical strategies to improve connection, behaviour management, and family communication. In couples counselling, I help partners better understand patterns, strengthen communication, and build healthier emotional connection.
My goal is to help people feel supported, empowered, and equipped with meaningful tools that create lasting positive change.
