Eye movements are closely linked to memory. By guiding the eyes smoothly across the visual field, the brain can revisit and reorganize traumatic memories, integrating them into a coherent story and storing them in the past. This reduces the emotional intensity and power of triggers—such as sounds, smells, or images—that once caused distress. After an initial intake, the therapist guides the client’s eyes through 24 different directions, paired with key words linked to the trauma. Emotional and sensory memories may arise during the process, but as the brain processes them, reactions fade. A single traumatic event may be resolved in one session, while complex trauma requires multiple sessions spaced about two weeks apart for optimal processing.

This session is for individuals of any age looking for support to process their own or a loved one's substance use.

I aim to create a non-judgmental space where the relationship between client and counsellor is built on trust and mutual respect. I see therapy as a journey—one that requires patience, empathy, and a deep respect for your unique story. My approach is person-centered, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. You’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m here to support and collaborate with you to find a path forward that truly fits who you are and what you need.

Growing up with a counsellor for a parent had a big impact on me—it taught me the importance of finding and using my voice. I’ve seen how easy it is for people to feel like they’ve lost that sense of influence in their own lives. Through counselling, I hope to help you reconnect with your voice and feel more empowered to take back control over your story.

I offer individual counselling and couples counselling.  I have flexible options for scheduling.

Sometimes life can present situations and experiences that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and alone. Although reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, it can also be an opportunity to explore new possibilities.

My passion for counseling has always aligned with my personal and professional values of compassion, non-judgment, mutuality and respect. I enjoy meeting people where they are on their journey, focusing on their strengths, and supporting them in the direction they wish to go. The power of human resiliency and the capacity of all people to heal are the foundations from which I work.

If you are at a place on your journey where you are struggling and are curious about what counselling could offer, I would be honoured to support you. I am here to hold space for you in a safe, trusting, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental environment, to meet you where you wish to begin, listen to your story, and walk along side you on your path, so to speak.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to join with people to help them access their capacity, focus on their strengths, move through obstacles, and live a meaningful life that reflects their personal values.

I feel profoundly honoured to support people in their journey toward wellness. My approach is nurturing, respect-based, collaborative, strength-based, and trauma-informed. I specialize in working with trauma and PTSD. I am able to provide EMDR trauma therapy to children and youth as well as adults and couples.  I love the richness of working with all people. Populations of specialty include: couples, men, middle agers, and elders. I am also passionate about working with people experiencing diverse challenges such as life transitions and aging, anxiety and depression, grief, relationship conflicts or issues, stress management and burnout, neurodiversity (adults and youth), and identity, sex and sexuality.

So often, people who have experienced one or many traumas also experience anxiety or depression, intrusive or overwhelming memories, sleep disturbances, hopelessness, and a deep loss of trust and confidence in themselves and others. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where people can be vulnerable and express themselves authentically. Together, we can rebuild a sense of safety and stability so people can manage their symptoms and heal their traumas.

I utilize a variety of modalities depending on the diverse needs of each individual, couple, or family; however, I am most proficient with Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am an ally to and for LGBTQ2+ and sex-positive communities and alternative life styles, highly respectful of all people from all cultures, religious beliefs, and walks of life, and I strive to apply a culturally responsive and socially just lens to all that I do.  I am passionate about working with diverse couples and families.
